I love this weather right now. It got warmer so it’s now 60-70s. All the leaves are changing to yellow, purple, and red. It’s so beautiful. We’re heading out to Vail this weekend so hopefully we’ll catch a better view there. I know it recently snowed up there but hopefully all the leaves aren’t gone...

gizi62 - yipeee…first to comment! even lil emilee knows that tommy is lame. poor thing.

Susan_Cackle_Kim - i love the fall photos. too bad san diego doesn’t get beautiful fall foliage. looking at those pics makes me even more eager to start landscaping our backyard. we’re finally starting tomorrow!!! :)

jeffsuhr - emilee is SO precious – i love that little smile she gives. this stage is the best stage of babyhood :) enjoy!!

i want to see foliage on the east coast, but CO is so beautiful, too. seriously, get ready to see us at your front door one day!!

Ratzlaff5 - Beautiful shots!  I now have the Canon Rebel XT & am really enjoying it–but have so much more to learn about how to use it!  Thanks for the advice. . .

yrnehkim - we’re gonna have to visit CO before it gets too cold….on my bike!!!

parkster7831 - man i should head out to Colorado than Boston… your Fall foliage is beautiful!

MiSs_JoO - Hi! those are very beautiful pictures. I have been missing quite a bit of churh nowadays. As for now, I am a little sick but hopefully I will make it to church this sunday. Anyway, yes i wrote that poem. (I didnt clarify it on my page..) I hope to see you and stacy and the kids soon! have a good day!

pOpcOrn_player - Watching that video of Emilee laughing made my day…!! i love babies laughing like that haha.. were that can’t get it all out..its soooo cute..and noah was so excited. See you guys on Sunday! have fun at Vail this weekend

pOpcOrn_player - OH yea.is that boy dancing a boy or a man in a boys body? haha.. that was pretty funny

homefire - Gorgeous photos!  And your header is SO cute!

janepark03 - Great photos! Emilee has the sweetest laugh and voice! Such a lil’ girlie girl!

ourfamilyupdate - Nice pictures of fall in CO. I can’t believe that story of what happened to the school kids… how sad.

kennyahn - man, why you gotta play with my emotions like that? first, you show me beautiful pictures of autumn that make me wanna move to Colorado right now. then you show me adorable pictures of emilee and share her ever so cute laughter with me to make me smile. then you end your post with that horrible event in Colorado.

cltgrace - Great pics! I love that guitar playin up top!  Looks like you’ve got some sweetness AND energy in your house.  Take care~

idonotfearthem - hey there, very nice site!  thanks for commenting.  i love your pictures!

here in oklahoma, fall hasn’t quite begun yet.  everything is still green!  : )-

your daughter is just precious!  no other words to describe it!

have a blessed week,

mary

hangbokhanpatti - CO looks beautiful… makes me want to move there. OMG, Emilee’s pictures and her laughing is soooooo beautiful. I’m enjoying Luke’s same laugh as well these days. Such a precious stage in their life.

essiechoi - Emilee is soooooo pretty!  We will be praying for her.

BigJkool87 - Hey tommy and staci,

Nice pic of noah and your daughter.

BigJkool87 - O yea one more thing that boy dancing in the video is kind of gross and it freaks me out. ^o^

Ratzlaff5 - What lense & mode did you use on the outdoor shots?  :)   Thanks!  Jenny

tommyandstaci - re: Ratzlaff, I shot at Av mode probably ISO 200 with 28-75mm Tamron zoom. I think aperture was 4.0. However, I did some photoshop on it to bring out the color. Play with Auto Level and Layer (Overlay, Soft Light, etc.). You’ll be amazed at how your photo will look just by changing those two settings.

elainechung - emilee is so cute…i can hear noah breathing in the background.  HAHAH

kyleescrazymommy - I love the fall too. So pretty. Emilee is so cute. You guys need to come out to Vegas.

momma_mandy - Hi,

Thanks for your very nice comments that were recently left on my site. You too take very nice photos. I love the one of your child in front of the Giant Yellow Engine. I love trains, and that one is sooo cool. You asked about my gear. I just got my Canon 30d for my b-day in August. It is amazing. I also got the 85 mm 1.8 lens for it. Also amazing!! Before that I had an SLR digital fujifilm s9000 (not so amazing,) and a film Minolta SLR with a 70-210 which was a great lens. I just started doing photography for others for $, so we’ll see how it goes!

Where in Colorado are you? My inlaws all live in Thornton. Concerning the school shooting. My little girl just started school, and I had a lot of those same thoughts. I’m sure every parent did. That is why I pray fervently!! :)

Have a great day!

hpeachee - My thoughts will be with Emilee!!  I hope she is doing well….

Aww.. let’s enjoy the beautiful fall colors…  Best time of the year!!

gklee76 - Emilee is SO ADORABLE!  It’s funny how her laugh sounds identical to Ariel’s laugh… doesn’t it just melt your heart?!

I completely agree that we have to cherish EVERY SINGLE MOMENT with our children and loved ones… and thank God everyday for keeping us safe.

Lastly, I wanted to ask for advice… Does Noah stay home most of the time with Emilee? Does Stacy watch both of them by herself?  If so, how does she manage taking care of Emilee’s needs while keeping Noah somewhat stimulated and not too bored?  Chloe’s been going to day care full time, but we’re going to take her out of day care and start her preschool part time.  (couple days a week)  Rest of the days, I want to keep her at home but I find it kind of difficult to interact with her and do activities with her because of Ariel.  Chloe gets bored of playing by herself and wants to just watch DVDs and TV, which I don’t want her to do.  A little bit is ok but not all day.  I want to teach her arts and crafts and take her to gym class among other things, but I have to tend to and carry Ariel most of the day.  So I was wondering how Stacy and/or you do it on a day to day basis?   =)

gklee76 - Thanks so much for your reply.  I think you guys are doing a great job w/ your children… Noah looks like the happiest kid in the world and Emilee is just blossoming.  You look like such a perfect family, and that is why I wanted your advice.  I guess our babies are still too young and taking up most of our time and attention but I suspect (and hope) that once they get a little bit older, it will be better in terms of the children playing with each other and us being able to teach and do activities all together.  Maybe I’m just being overly concerned.  I hear both sides.  Some say let them be kids and just “free play”.  Some say they need structure, education, socialization, and creative arts as soon as possible to be prepared for Kindergarten and not fall behind.  I’ve decided I’ll just do the best I can and not worry so much for now.  I have to remind myself that Ariel (and Emilee) will not be this young forever.

This past Saturday, Noah and I went to ride Thomas train at the Denver Railroad Museum. We bought these tickets awhile back since we knew it would be sold out really fast. Surely enough, everything was sold out by the event. It was pretty cold that day. Mid 40s. Everybody was wearing their winter clothes....

kennyahn - great photography tommy. but even more than that, you have an awesome son in Noah. I wanna hang out with him. On a separate note, couldn’t you stop being so lazy?…..you gotta photoshop that thing under his nose on allllll the photos.

tommyandstaci - ryc kenny: Yeah I noticed I didn’t photoshop that blister on all the photos after I posted it. haha. Hey man! That’s all part of memory. haha.

fishfood - awesome!  wonder if they will bring it to socal.  great shots too.  looks like noah had a blast.

tommyandstaci - kenny, you happy now? darn picky photographers!

gizi62 - it was a good entry until i saw you in one of the pics. geez.

karis912 - that’s so cool! my niece & nephew love thomas the train! wonder if they’ll come to the bay area…

kennyahn - tommy, i am happy now.

The_Honys - Oh WOW! Johnathan hasen’t seen your pictures,”YET” but he will love them!

cabby97 - wow awesome

esteryu - Hi guys! Can’t believe you guys have 2 kids already! They’re so cute! =)

fishfood - they’re coming down in october too.. we might take ryan but he’s not crazy over trains yet

cassandrachoi - nice tat!  his face is getting longer.  he’s slowly shedding his baby look….  they grow so fast!

Susan_Cackle_Kim - noah’s one lucky kid! looks like he had a blast!

bonster2 - Wow, he must have had a blast at that place!!  I can’t wait till Jacob is big enough for us to take him to places like that!

jimdapimp - DANG!!! I wish you were my daddy!

BTW – that is Paul’s face on my profile. I superimposed it on top of Eminems body.

jeffsuhr - that looks so fun! megan LOVES thomas, too. how did you find out about it? some website? i’ll have to get the info from you :)

ourfamilyupdate - Great pictures.  I remember when we took Jadon to see Thomas in Sunol (I think it was Sunol). He had a blast too. -Chris

yrnehkim - wow…looks like all your xanga fans are back…baby pics rule!!!

essiechoi - noah has a wonderful daddy!  :)

juliachoi - we went with the boys a couple of years ago.  i think we went to the one in fillmore.  sinjin loved it, but ethan didn’t know what was going on because he was only 4 or 5 months old.  what a fun father and son outing.

jinaleeeee - wow…you two look so much alike.

wizexel22 - haha you didnt see my comment on your other post did you……….i know this because you didnt come to my site to bag on me haha.

noah is really lucky tho. my parents would never take me to something like that. in fact that train having a face on it, theyd probably say that train is from the devil! haha

jenpurrr - fun tommy!  wish thomas the train came to l.a…all the cali. events are too far for me to take my boys (nephews)….  keep posting the pics!

tommyandstaci - ryc jinaleeeee: does that mean noah looks like you too? haha.

kyleescrazymommy - What a treat for Noah. We missed when they came here. It was recent in fillmore. Don’t know if they went anywhere else in LA but I’m sure.

cltgrace - How fun!  My Gracie girl also loves Thomas.

kanipark - look how happy he looks :)

hana_sj - Sleeping babies look like angels, she’s so cute and peaceful looking. :D (I admit it, I come for the pictures… but I still read all your posts. Haha)

love2laugh - yep, your children’s pictures are definitely “comment-magnets” : )

doodoostain - is noah pulling em’s hair?

jenny76lee - miss them.   :(

pOpcOrn_player - Emilee is soOo adorable.. i love it.. and noah is super cute.. haha.. if only he would play with me..haha.. the picture thing is true.. but i read all the posts too :]

yrnehkim - this is a comment for a comment sake…

tommyandstaci - ryc doodoostain: no em’s hair is not that long yet. he abuses anybody else that has long hair. that’s staci in the picture. :)

goldenbearcal - So what is the old habit?  Pulling on long hair or sucking his thumb?  Joshua, my son, sucks on his thumb and we have no idea how he’s going to stop.  I should have used a pacifier.  I was so against it but now, it’d be great.  I’d just throw the pacifier away!  Oh well…

tommyandstaci - ryc goldenbearcal: noah sucks his thumb and touches hair. he used to touch eyebrows but now he’s moved on to hair. we’re trying different means of stopping his thumb sucking. we usually tell him we’ll put “spicy” on his thumb if he doesn’t stop sucking. he stops immediately. :)

kanipark - i just love the pictures…

SsuNgsteR - sorry for not commenting on ur previous xanga entry. hehe thank you for keeping all of us in ur prayers.

backlightphoto - black/white pictures of kids are great! That first picture of Emilee is so peaceful.

jeffsuhr - ok, seriously, i think God made our kids totally similar. it’s so weird, our kids are in the exact same stages :) megan sucks her right thumb like crazy, but she has to be touching anything plush, like her blanket or a stuffed animal. our noah started sucking his left thumb recently . . . man, those thumb suckers!!! :)

ourfamilyupdate - Since when has Noah had  hair-fetish? We always thought it was for velcro. :)

KrNxChiCKa - Good luck on your house! very cute pictures :)

kyleescrazymommy - That picture of Noah is so funny. That’s what Kylee looks like except with her pajama pants and not the hair. My friend used something called the thumb guard to help break her son’s habit. I think you can find it online if you’re interested. I’ll double check on the name.

Susan_Cackle_Kim - loooooove the photo of noah sucking away! cute!

tommyandstaci - ryc ourfamilyupdate: noah went from sucking thumb and velcro to thumb and eyebrows to thumb and hair now. who knows what it will be next!

kennyahn - FANTASTIC shots!

lastoriafoto - Ditto Kenny!

ShutterbugTim - That first picture is just wonderful!

BigJkool87 - hey

The_Honys - You need to post a picture of Noah holding eyebrows… I picture him sucking his thumb and holding your eyebrow…LOL!

jaded2000 - Hi Hans,

It’s the Dahlbys. It’s funny how you get 6 comments vs 24 :)   I always loved seeing little kids who such their thumbs. I’m sure their parents aren’t too happy with it.  We were in our mid 80′s until yesterday and will return on Sat. I’m really wishing for the changing of the seasons soon here.  CO is looking better and better (but too bad we aren’t the Moons :)   Stay warm.

tommyandstaci - ryc jaded2000: hey now~ any moon is better than no moon. haha. perhaps it will be a house full of moons one day? =P

scottrobert - love that first photos, awesome!

jimdapimp - you take the sweetest pictures. you should do weddings.

bonster2 - Glad you guys are feeling better now!
You know that thing that Noah had for velcro?  Jacob seems to have a thing for it too!
he’s just DRAWN to it!

wizexel22 - haha yeah, i did some research…….. pictures with noah or em averages like 29.3 comments , while non-noah or em pictures avg like 7.1.

the really weird statistic is, posts with a picture of tommy without noah, em, or staci, only averages 2.4 comments. (with 1.4 comments being negative) haha.

cltgrace - That is the sweetest sleepy pic I think I’ve ever seen. :o

We had our Oikos (house group) meeting today and it was so encouraging to see so many people there. I really love meeting with our EM group in a setting like this b/c I get to know them a little better on a personal level. I appreciate the things they share and somewhat feel closer...

BigJkool87 - THE OIKOS WAS REALLY GOOD. BUT THE WEATHER IS GETTING COLD. I AM GLAD THAT I GET SEE MY BROTHER AND SISTER IN CHRIST IN OIKOS. OKAY HAVE A NICE DAY.Oikos

kanipark - i could do a lil’ more praying as well…

yrnehkim - you do look like an ah-juh-ssi…compared to them…i would look like a grandpa

tommyandstaci - Yeah these kids are crazy! That’s why they need my prayers even more. haha.

kennyahn - you must be going to everyone’s Xanga to see that I’m commenting on them

goldenbearcal - Emilee still isn’t able to sleep through the night?!?!?!  My daughter isn’t able to, either.  She is driving us nuts.  She wakes us up at least once, if not twice a night.  Tough to really be God’s ambassador to people when you’re having such a hard time with two kids.  I hear you brother!

najus612 - What the…you live in Colorado??? Hey, now at least you understand how I lived when I lived in Utah!!! You get 4 seasons, right?

Saturday September 16, 2006

I can’t believe it’s been a year already. It seemed like yesterday when I got my company’s approval to relocate to Colorado. Although a year went by so fast it feels like we’ve lived in Colorado for more than a year. Within a year, we bought our first “house” and Emilee joined our family. We...

jeffsuhr - man, i wish it was chilly and colorful here, too. fall is so nice in places like that! i’m sure you guys miss family and friends, but CO seems like such a great place to live! can you talk to jeff and the rest of our church to move there? :)

kennyahn - i’m glad you didn’t mention specific names of who should be hurrying to move to Colorado.

ourfamilyupdate - wow, it’s been a year already?!

SingingMom - One of our biggest fears was racism.

I’m never quite comfortable talking about it, but I just wanted to ask – do you get much racism in any place you are? I know it happens, but I just can’t understand why someone would treat someone else different because of the color of their skin or the shape of their eyes. I’ve discussed it at length with Ethan. He has always been self-conscious being Korean. He’s always looking for other people that look like him, everywhere he goes. He spent his teen years in Colorado Springs and childhood in Florida.

He takes a lot of teasing, some of it just good-natured, but some downright mean. Kids teased him growing up. When somebody hurts him, it makes me want to hurt them back. :-( He’s in Iraq right now, and emailed this morning that for the first time he is feeling real fear that something could happen to him or his teammates. He’s a bomb tech.

kanipark - i can’t wait to see pictures of fall :)

gizi62 - time flies!!!!!! i can’t believe it’s already been a year! i miss staci, noah & emilee….a LOT. buuuwaaaah.

frank409 - I can’t believe it’s been a year, brother! Both June and I feel blessed that we could be a part of Noah’s childhood and now, Emilee’s as well. We just love seeing Noah jump up and down like a little monkey whenever we come over. And we are really sad to see him cry when we leave… But most of all, we are so thankful that we are only 5 min apart from one another. I hope we will teach Noah about how to be a Godly man, and for Emilee… well, let’s go shotgun shopping together brother! =)
